Special Interest Groups

IABC/Washington offers several Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that complement and build upon our regular monthly meetings and networking opportunities. SIGs offer meetings and other activities that address the needs of special groups within the chapter:

Senior Communicators Council
Open to communicators with fifteen or more years of experience, this group is both a resource to the members of IABC/Washington, and a source of networking and professional development for senior members of our profession. Contact: Mike Sorohan.

Independents Group
Open exclusively to IABC/Washington members who are self employed (with five or fewer employees), this group offers networking, support, and best practices information--not to mention regular luncheons with colleagues! Contact: Aimee Stern, 202/744-5004.

Government Communicators
IABC/Washington has forged strong relationships with communicators in federal agencies to share information and ideas about their unique challenges, functions, and audiences. Following last year's successful conference we are planning a series of seminars during 2007. Contact: Jeff Brooke ABC, 202/512-1920.

Greater Maryland Group
Open to all chapter members, this group offers quarterly professional development and networking opportunities in the Greater Baltimore area. Contact: Tracy Imm, 443/562-4847.
