Serves as an agency spokesperson on a diverse range of issues related to the specialized areas, as well as more widespread issues. Coordinates technical elements of the organization with related activities of other government agencies. Confers with key government and private officials and top experts in the field, representing the agency at technical symposia and conferences.

Identifies, leads and participates in regional projects or studies, work groups, task forces and panels, frequently focusing on unprecedented problems and shaping the future direction of agency programs. Oversees the development of the National Capital Region (NCR) public and business relations activities, including: news releases, advisories, backgrounders, news conferences, speeches, media/trade and industry association tours, etc., for NCR officials. Serves as key NCR media spokesperson, responding to media inquiries and coordinating with other NCR officials as necessary and appropriate. Oversees the coordination, development and editing of items of interest for external publication and for dissemination internally to GSA associates. Develops and oversees the development of a wide array of communication vehicles (e.g., newsletters, web sites, articles, press released) to ensure wide dissemination of GSA.NCR messages. Oversees the planning, production, direction and coordination (including identifying and meeting any requirements) of all internal and external events (e.g., groundbreaking ceremonies, building dedications, award ceremonies, regional conferences, trade shows, and outreach activities for clients, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders). Serves as a member of the Senior Emergency Response Team (SERT) assisting the Region in emergency situations.
Conceives, initiates and monitors programs and projects dealing with challenging problems. Applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to assess and improve program effectiveness and/or complex management processes, projects and systems. |

Web Site Content • Coordinate content development and placement in support of the group intranet and corporate internet sights. • Development and coordination of business content from across the business group for both internal and external communications.
Strategic Planning • Develops programs, plans, and strategies to continually increase ATK’s visibility and advance its mission
• Helps senior leadership envision and develop long-term strategic plans to grow the organization and achieve program goals
